So what matters.

Earlier this week my wife met with a lady for coffee. She has turned her Trauma into a successful book and helped others through this book and her walk. My wife was positively impressed with their visit and we hope that she continues to support us as we move forward. A nugget from their conversation has stuck with me as Corinne was reflecting on it. “So what.” That was the nugget. Often this seed turns into apathy or self-doubt. But with careful consideration this seed can turn into resolve and positivity. That propels a person past their problems and into a new life. This thought, this seed, had no small part in our choosing Sow What Matters as a name for our organization. The world and our human nature is fickle and cunning in nature quickly turning what could be a launching pad into a bomb crater. I was listening in a men’s group last weekend and the message was centered around a similar thought. That our burdens are where the Lord wants to work and is calling us to action. The biblical story given as an illustration was Nehemiah. He felt the call to repair the walls of the city Jerusalem but was the king’s cupbearer not a master mason or craftsman. Never the less he turned his burden and station in life to affect change and rebuild the city walls. I would like to encourage anyone reading this to reflect on their burdens and see if the Lord is calling you to something greater. I hope that even in the smallest ways this is encouraging to your daily walk. Today I did not want to get up and go to church admittedly. After working a labor job 6 days this week getting up and dedicating several hours to church seemed like a mountain to climb. Thankfully the Lord removed this mountain as I prayed. I have faith that He can do even greater things for you if you truly cast your cares upon him, as Peter tells us. It will not be easy and will be uncomfortable for a season but the reward of listening to the Holy Spirit and feeling him change your heart is worth it. With Him all things are possible great or small. Have faith like a mustard seed and tell the doubting voices in your head “so what”. Push forward through the haze and uncertainty to your Heavenly Father and Elder Brother and seek the truth.
